Annual Fete at Christ Church, Derriaghy

Derriaghy Parish Fete was held at Christ Church, Derriaghy last Saturday afternoon (17^th June).  Assisted by the Rector, the Rev John Budd, Miss Vance Addis opened the fete.  Miss Addis, who has been Sunday School Superintendent for 20 years and a member of St Andrew�s Church Choir since 1969, welcomed everyone and thanked the committee for asking her to open the fete.    She said that she regards the fete as, �a social event that brings parishioners together and provides the opportunity to meet old acquaintances and to make new ones�.  She hoped that everyone would have a �great day of fellowship and craic and that they would get some great bargains�.  Organised by Pat Allen and a fundraising committee from the congregations of Christ Church - Derriaghy and St Andrew�s - Colin, the great afternoon of fun and fellowship for the whole family included a variety of cakes, plants and book stalls, afternoon teas, barbecue, face painting, hoop-la stand, football and netball stand and lots of other attractions.
