The Ned Kelly Band

The Ned Kelly Band's new album Angry Men is now listed on itunes. The band are excited that they are now able to reach a wider audience now able to download their music worldwide. Ned Kelly says 'Someone told me after a recent gig that the world needed to hear our songs and I suppose this is the first step in achieving this!' The band is passionate about what they have to say through their music, believing that Jesus is the only hope for our world.

The Ned Kelly Band, based in Banbridge, Co. Down, was formed 10 years ago and have recently produced their fourth album Angry Men. The past year has been a transition period for the band with a new line-up and hopes for the new year are high. The band have been in the studio during the summer '06 and recorded 14 new songs and they are now ready to play gigs again and hope to take their music to a wider audience.

A week-long tour of the French Riviera is planned in May from Marseille to Nice following the success of last year's one night stand. The band's latest venture was to play a gig behind bars in Maghaberry high security prison in December '06 which was a first for any band. The band were overwhelmed by the response from the gig both from the prisoners and wardens and have been asked to return for another one in January this year.

As a band we all believe in this new album. We have something to say about our society, lifestyle and issues that affect us. We believe people are conditioned by what goes on around them and we hope the lyrics will make people take notice of what we have to say. There are a few protest songs on the new album which we hope are thought provoking and challenging.
