Nikki Lunn and Katie Armstrong from 1st Lisburn Presbyterian Church will spend some of the summer working with Dublin Christian Mission (DCM), a non-denominational, evangelical group seeking to relate God's love in word and deed to the poor and needy people of the city. Under the DCM banner, Christians of evangelical faith but of differing denominational backgrounds come together for the purpose of bringing Christ to the multitude. This is done through after school programmes during the year, mother's groups, family work, homeless ministry and summer camps.

Nikki has been working with the Mission since Sunday 3rd June and will be there until the end of August. Katie will be going from Sunday 29th July to Saturday 4th August. They will be helping with summer camps at Rathdrum (Co. Wicklow) where each week, a different age group of young people will come for a break from the city and experience the love of God through session times, outings, activities and chill out times.

Nikki will be responsible for the training and development of junior leaders who have been involved in clubs throughout the year. She will be the speaker at Senior Girls camp and for the teens at one of the Family Camps and for three of the camps she will be responsible for a tent of girls/young people throughout the week.

Katie will assist with younger children on one of the family camps and will be responsible for leading sessions for the children while their parents are in the adult sessions. There will be times of relationship building with the families and looking after the children when the parents want some time to reflect and relax during the week.

Nikki and Katie will be working with young people and families from marginalized communities of Dublin City. They request that people would pray for the young people and families coming to each camp to ensure that they will truly encounter God afresh and experience His love to a new depth. They also say that DCM is always looking for volunteers (especially during the summer weeks of camp) - for more information visit the website at www.dcmlive.ie
