and an honorary Doctorate in Divinity by Union Theological College

The Rev Dr Jack Richardson, Senior Minister of Hillhall Presbyterian Church, who has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Year's Honours List for services to the community in Northern Ireland received his award from The Queen at an Investiture held in Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 23rd May. Mr Richardson was accompanied by his wife Sally and two of their four sons Jeffrey and Neville.

In addition to this prestigious award, the degree of Honorary Doctor of Divinity was conferred on Mr Richardson by the Presbyterian Faculty, Ireland at Union College at the annual graduation on Friday 11th May.

In addition to this prestigious award, Mr Richardson was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Divinity by Union Theological College in Belfast on Friday 11th May and was presented with his degree citation by College Principal, the Rev Professor Patton Taylor. Dr Richardson was honoured in recognition of his contribution to the development of Public Worship within the Presbyterian Church and his convenership of the committee, which edited the recently published 'Irish Presbyterian Hymnbook'.

After nearly 25 years of exemplary service as the minister of Hillhall Presbyterian Church, Mr Richardson preached the final service in his active ministry on Sunday afternoon 24th December 2006 (Christmas Eve).
