After attending Wallace High School (1993-2000), he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree at Queen?s University, Belfast in 2003. From (2003 to 2005) he spent a two-year apprenticeship under Lisburn born Rev Eddie Coulter at the Irish Church Missions in Dublin and during this time he obtained a Master of Theology from Queen?s. He completed his training for the ministry at the Church of Ireland Theological College, Trinity College, Dublin (2005-2007) and is currently pursuing a PhD as a part-time Research Student at Queen?s University, Belfast.

Stanley, who will assist Venerable Philip Patterson, preached his first sermon at Knockbreda Parish Church on Sunday 1st July. He will marry former Wallace High School student Sarah Donaldson (from Banbridge) later this summer.
