  An
evening of
praise,
stories and
fun was
held in Railway Street Presbyterian Church on Saturday 30th
August to celebrate the official opening of the new Exodus
Centre at 29 Railway Street, Lisburn.
During the
evening teams based in
Lisburn, Belfast, Dungannon, Waringstown and Carrick were
welcomed and in a challenging message guest speaker,
The Rt Rev
Ken Clarke (Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and
Ardagh) encouraged
the team members to keep going 'Beyond Belief' in keeping
with the theme of the Exodus small group programme.
Jim Brown
(Director of Exodus, Lisburn) led the service. Also taking
part were Jose Cummings (Training Co-ordinator) who gave an
overview of the Lisburn journey so far and Paul Murphy (Lisburn
Regional Co-ordinator) spoke of the Lisburn Ministry focus.
  Following
the service refreshments were served in the new
Exodus Centre allowing
visitors to see the newly renovated premises which were
formerly Lisburn Library.
Exodus is a youth
discipleship organisation that exists
to encourage and
equip young people, aged 15-25, to be committed followers of
Jesus Christ. Their vision is focussed on
helping young people take up the challenge of Christ to
'deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him'.
The renovated
building is divided into
three separate venues:
Deep
(a chilled out cafe), The Lounge (a space
for acoustic artists), and Freedom (a high
energy Nightbase with bands and DJs).
Lisburn Exodus
run a range of exciting opportunities and the programme
includes:
  First
Stop - A
morning devotional space
(Wed/ Fri 7.30-9.00am) designed to encourage both young and
old to spend some time in the Word before their day begins.
Last Stop
-
A
Friday afternoon (3.30-5.30pm)
drop in
for young people to catch up with their
youth leader in a relaxed environment.
Young Adults -
A once a
month event (Last Thursday of the month 8.00-11.00pm) aimed
to cater for all 18+ young people interested in meeting
others their age while having a laugh.
Saturday Nights
- Weekly action packed
evenings (8.45-11.45pm) that will encourage
a lot of fun and fellowship for all young people (year
11+).
