Young people representing many of our local churches packed Brownlee Memorial Primary School assembly hall last Saturday night (23rd February) for the launch of Street Reach Lisburn 08, which this year will be held from Thursday 27th to Saturday 29th March. Stephen Aulds and Stephen Jones welcomed the young people and gave a special welcome to the Lisburn Mayor and Mayoress, who launched this the third year of the popular community youth event.

In launching the event, the Mayor spoke of how he became a Christian and pointed out that there is more to being a Christian than just going to church. He said that it was absolutely fabulous to see so many young Christian people gathered to serve the Lord and called on those who had not yet come to know the Lord. He concluded by asking the Lords blessing on all the leaders and volunteers as they continue to serve the Lord and the community through Street Reach Lisburn 08.

The Mayoress said that it was fantastic to be present and, speaking as a parent, she said that she was happy to see that so many leaders and volunteers involved in the Lords work through Street Reach Lisburn 08. She wished them every success reminding them that without prayer it is nothing.

Stephen Aulds and Stephen Jones thanked the Mayor and Mayoress for launching the event. In a moving prayer, Stephen Auld said that when titles are stripped away, we are all at level ground before the cross. He asked that God would help and inspire the leaders and volunteers of Street Reach Lisburn 08 as they seek revival and the awakening of the city of Lisburn.
