President of the Methodist Church in Ireland pays a visit to Lisburn

The President of the Methodist Church in Ireland Rev Paul Kingston with local Minister Rev Brian Anderson.

THE President of the Methodist Church in Ireland Rev Paul Kingston visited the Lisburn area last week to make contact with the Congregations on the Lisburn and Dromore Circuit.

The Circuit comprises of Methodist Churches in Magheragall, Priesthill, Broomhedge, Dromore, Trinity as well as Seymour Street in the City of Lisburn.

Having attended a number of activities in different locations Mr. Kingston commended the leadership and commitment shown by so many in serving their local communities.

Anniversary

The visit coincided with the 135th anniversary of the opening of Seymour Street Methodist Church and speaking about this the President said the congregation of Seymour Street followed the noble tradition of the founder of Methodism John Wesley in seeking to serve the spiritual and social needs of the area.

While in Lisburn Mr. Kingston, accompanied by local Minister Rev Brian Anderson, visited the Headquarters of the Fire and Rescue Service where they saw at first hand the part played by cutting edge technology in dealing with different kinds of emergencies.
