Stephen McBride presented the new Canon to Dean Bond to be Installed as Prebendary of Rasharkin in the Chapter of St Saviour in Christ Church Cathedral. The address was given by the Rev Canon George Irwin, Rector of Ballymacash, who paid tribute to the many fine qualities of Canon Budd whom he had known since college days. He said that the new canon's appointment by the Bishop was recognition of his contribution to the diocese and an acknowledgment of his ministry and for his wife and family and for the parish of Derriaghy where he has served lovingly and faithfully for the past 14 years, a good shepherd in the Church of God.

Also taking part in the service were Canon Sam Wright, Rector of the Cathedral, Chancellor Stuart Lloyd, Canon Percy Walker, the Rev Simon Genoe Cathedral Curate and the Bishop of Connor.

The combined choirs of the Cathedral and Derriaghy led the praise and the organist was Mr Andrew Skelly. The Choir sang the Anthem 'Praise God from whom all blessings flow' a hymn by Derriaghy Organist and Choirmaster Davrd Wheavil.

A splendid supper was provided by the men and ladies of the Cathedral. Dean Bond thanked all who attended the service and Canon Budd suitably replied. A presentation was made to Dean John
and Mrs. Joyce Bond to mark their wedding anniversary and also to Mrs Carla Budd. The Bishop closed a very happy evening with prayer.
