LISBURN man John Kelly has just completed an amazing fundraising experience with a gruelling trek across the Grand Canyon.

This included camping in ancient Indian reservations, suffering extremely high temperatures and hiking in excess of 50 miles over

rough terrain. John's aim was to raise money for the NCH Children's Charity who work throughout the UK to help under privileged, abused and disadvantaged children.

A large amount of John's sponsorship came from his work colleagues at the Gas Installers Forum Northern Ireland (GIFNI).

GIFNI held a massive 70's themed Ball in the Spring to raise funds for both John and the Phoenix Energy for Children Charity, the natural gas industry's own charity which aims to realise 100,000 for local disadvantaged children.

John said: "I would just like to thank everyone who attended GIFNI's Industry Ball, as all of the money raised went straight to good causes.

"My fundraising trip was both rewarding to me and of course most importantly to those children who I hope have greatly benefited."
