The 2006 Lisburn and District Scouts AGM was held on Wednesday 23rd August at Lisburn Rugby Club.  This year, the meeting was followed by a successful Bar-B-Que, which they hope will become the norm for future AGMs.

Noel Irwin - Lisburn and District Scouts Commissioner, outlined plans for the District website; the District Cottage at Slievenaman in the Mourne Mountains; the development of the district over the next year; and the Movements centenary celebrations during 2007.  He explained that with the Centenary celebrations in 2007, the year 2006/2007 would be the most important in the long history of the movement.  Emphasising the importance of making every scouting event held within the Lisburn District something to remember he hoped that the large attendance at the AGM would set the tone for these events.

Also present at the meeting was Richard Totten - County Commissioner for Antrim, who thanked the District for all its help and support over the last year and set out the County vision of the 2007 centenary celebrations.

During the meeting Noel and Richard presented the Jeff Fenning trophy for outstanding leadership to Davy Hilland - Assistant District Commissioner for Cubs, for his outstanding organisation of the Districts Cub Scout 90th anniversary celebrations.
