A DUNMURRY girl took part in the Belfast City Marathon Fun Run with three friends to raise money for Speechmatters part of The Stroke Association.

Andrea Ferris and her friends Laura Elliman, Kylie Willis and Colleen McCrink raised 896.50, which will go towards helping stroke survivors and people living with aphasia in Northern Ireland.

Dermot Ferris, Andrea's father, is one of many stroke survivors living in Northern Ireland who has aphasia and benefits from the services provided by Speechmatters, a community-based charity which provides professionally led services to stroke survivors and people living with aphasia, their carers and families.
