Dr Harold Harvey
pictured with his cousin and lifelong friend John
Kelly at an Open Night at Tullymacarette Primary
School on Friday 1st June 2007, prior to the closure
of the school. |
Harold is a keen photographer -
here is one of his many photos of Botswana (sent
this week).
|
Former Ballaney
man (near Dromore) Dr Harold Harvey, a Senior Lecturer in Public
Health at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown is working as
visiting professor at the University of Botswana for four months.
From 1952 to 1960, he attended Tullymacarette Primary
School (which regrettably closed last year) where he received his
early education under the tuition of Mrs Margaret Potts and the
late Mr Jack Grier, Principal. After
Tullymacarette he progressed to Dromore High School and later
Banbridge Technical College.
Harold is
accompanied by his wife Marion who is doing some lecturing in the
Faculty of Education. They report that the
climate there is a pleasant 30 degrees and that they say is the
forecast for the duration of their stay.
