PUPILS from St Patrick's recently spent a week visiting orphanages to bring relief to underprivileged children and visiting homes for the elderly on their annual trip to Romania.

The year 13 students spent four months prior to the visit pursuing a rigorous fundraising campaign and collecting items that would benefit those in need.

As with previous years, the pupils were deeply affected by what they witnessed, but also very glad their visit would help so many people, both young and old. The planning for the 2009 trip is already underway.
