LOCAL people are being invited to pamper themselves and raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support all at the same time tonight (Friday) at Andy Ward Leisure in Ballynahinch.

Organised by local women Glynis Shilliday and Wendy Ward, those attending the event, which will run from 7.30pm-10pm, will receive a free 15 minute session with a variety of specialists, including an aromatherapist, reflexologist, sports therapist, style planner or a salsa demonstration etc for their £10 entrance fee, which will go toward vital Macmillan services in the Ballynahinch area.

Glynis and Wendy have organised a night full of top entertainment for those going along to support the cause. From wine and cheese to stalls with Christmas gifts, beauty treatments and supper, this really will be a night to pamper yourself, as well as supporting the local charity Glynis said: "My mother passed away from cancer and Macmillan's support was amazing, not just for mum, but for the family. My daughter was three at the time and when mum was diagnosed they took her away and played with her.

They were just incredible and it's not just the support they give but they provide hairdressing and wigs, counselling and yoga.

"For two years I have wanted to thank them and I have never had the confidence to organise anything but I knew I had to do something; it is just nice to give back," she said.

Andy Ward Leisure, the gym owned by the ex-Ulster Rugby star on the Belfast Road, will play host to the evening and an auction, featuring signed Ulster Rugby goods and helicopter rides etc, will also be held in aid of a local man requiring medical treatment in the USA. Current and ex-Ulster players, including Bryn Cunningham, Isaac Boss and Andy himself will also be attending.

Anyone who would like further information on the event can contact Glynis on 07838118463.
