THE 2009 Coca-Cola Lisburn Half Marathon, 10K and Fun Run, one of the biggest and best events in the Northern Ireland running calendar, is shaping up to be even better than ever this year. The event, which takes place on 17th June, will attract runners from the length and breadth of Ireland who want to tackle the challenging Half Marathon or indeed the super fast 10K course.

And they will be joined on the night by in excess of 6,000 participants for the series of events, with many on the start line who are veterans of the races which are now in their 28th year.

Highlights

One of the highlights of the evening are the thousands of Fun Runners who take part in the 3K Fun Run with many representing local schools, clubs and uniformed organisations.

The unique atmosphere created by the event involving the U105 Roadshow, Coca-Cola Games Zone and other family attractions mean the event really is one that is open to all the family with a challenge to suit everyone.

The year's official charity is Diabetes UK who will receive E1 from every entry, but runners may choose the event to raise funds for a host of good causes with traditionally many thousands of pounds raised for various local and national charities.
