PRAXIS Care has received a donation of £2,000 from the Ulster Bank Staff Charity Fund for Northern Ireland. Praxis Care provides care and support services to adults and children with learning disability, mental ill health, acquired brain injury and older people with dementia.

The financial support was used to purchase gardening equipment and materials for Praxis Care's workskills project in the Secret Garden of Hillsborough.

The Secret Garden is based at the five acre walled garden of Hillsborough Castle which has been restored to offer valuable day care life skills training for adults with a learning disability.

Cathy Lyness, Manager of the Secret Garden Project said: "We are delighted to have received a donation from the Ulster Bank Staff Charity Fund for Northern Ireland. It has enabled us to purchase a wide range of gardening equipment and materials which has helped the 12 trainees with learning disabilities and staff to maintain and develop the grounds at the Secret Garden Project." Philip Mc Clurg, Chairman of the Ulster Bank Staff Charity Fund for Northern Ireland said: We are pleased to be associated with Praxis Care Secret Garden Project. We hope by supporting essential equipment and materials that it will be able to enhance the wide range of day and life skills that is offered to 12 trainees with a learning disability."
