The Historical Research Group is researching, for display in RSPBA Headquarters, the history of Pipe Bands and Pipe band drumming from the formation of the Association. The group is particularly interested in the years from 1930 to 1945.

They would like to hear from anyone who has photographs, newspaper cuttings, memorabilia or any interesting recollections. It is hoped to have the first part of the display in place before August 2006.

Funds are also being sought to assist in the purchase of display stands and fitments. A list of donors will form part of the display and will be published in The Pipe band magazine. Contact Alistair Aitken on 01506 882983 or Tony Harris 01525 875060.

It is with regret that we record the sudden death of John Crozier. John was Chairman of the Northern Ireland Branch of the RSPBA for many years, and up to his death was Chairman of the Ulster-Scots Dance Alliance and Gilnahirk Pipe band. He was a well-known figure both in Northern Ireland and Scotland and the sympathy of all in the pipe band world is extended to his wife and family.
