BOYS from Loughaghery Boys Brigade are preparing to embark on their Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition this summer and recently held a coffee morning to raise funds.

The boys will be going to the Lake District in July to complete their expedition and the coffee morning raised over £400 for equipment and essentials for their trip.

The event was supported by local Councillor Uel Mackin, MLA Jonathan Craig and Health Minister Edwin Poots.

The coffee morning was held in the Anahilt Orange and Community hall which was kindly granted.

A spokesperson for the BB said: "We would like to thank the Orangemen for allowing us to use this well equipped and newly refurbished hall.

"We would also like to thank the local crafters who brought a selection of interesting goods for sale at the Craft stalls at the Coffee morning. "A big thank you goes to all those who helped distribute leaflets, put up posters, set up and put away tables, car parking duty, baked the most delicious scones and tray-bakes and especially to those who came to support us and gave generously," she added.
