ST. Patrick's Church in Lisburn will be the venue for a concert by three County Antrim choirs -Loughside Chamber Choir, Una Voce and Loughside Girls' Choir - on Saturday, March 31.

'A Choral Celebration' will feature sacred and secular music by the three groups, plus solo items by special guest, Lisburn violinist Hayley Howe.

The programme will feature a setting of Psalm 110 by the 18th century Italian composer, Baldassare Galuppi, alongside anthems by Joseph Rheinberger and Johann Adolf Hasse. Works by contemporary composers Michael McGlynn and Pekka Kostiainien will also be performed.

During the interval, refreshments will be served in the Parish Centre adjacent to St. Patrick's at Chapel Hill.

The second half of the concert will be devoted to lighter music including traditional Irish folksongs and arrangements of modern 'pops'.

The three choirs, all conducted by Judith Watson will end the evening with two Howard Goodal favourites - Love Divine and The Lord is My Shepherd - accompanied by a string quartet.

The concert begins at 8pm and the admission charge is £8. Tickets may be purchased in advance through any choir members or by calling 07706038498.
