LISBURN City Council Mayor, Alderman William Leathem has congratulated well known businessman and former Councillor, Ned Falloon on raising over £20,000 for two charities supporting local servicemen and women.

Mr Falloon organised a Province wide draw to win a brand new car, and all money raised was donated to the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) and the Royal British Legion.

The Mayor and The Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim, Mrs Joan Christie, OBE joined Mr Falloon in presenting a brand new Ford Fiesta Car to the prize draw winner, Mrs Camilla Coles.

"I'd like to pay tribute to Ned for the amazing charity work that he has once again undertaken.

Throughout the years "Ned has been a tireless campaigner on many issues, not least the welfare of servicemen' and women, past and present.

"He is truly a force of nature and it is his commitment and passion that has ensured such an amazing amount of money has been raised.

"On behalf of the Council I congratulate Ned, his wife Irene, sponsors and all those involved in this magnificent fundraising effort," said Mr Leathem.

Mr Falloon, organiser of the draw, said: "It is a privilege to have undertaken this draw to raise
a significant amount of money for two very worthwhile causes, SSAFA and the Royal British Legion.

I would like to thank all of those who purchased a ticket and congratulate Camilla Coles from Ballycastle on winning the top prize of a brand new Ford Fiesta from Lindsay Ford. May I also take this opportunity to thank the companies who donated prizes to this draw as without your support the draw would not have been as attractive.

"I hope to run such a draw again in the future and I hope that it will be as well supported as this one as our servicemen, serving and retired, and their families require the assistance that such fundraising provides."
