Evening of Easter Music and Readings in Railway Street

The Easter Epilogue service held in Railway Street Presbyterian Church on Palm Sunday was based on the hymn Who is He, in yonder Stall? Prophesies from the Old Testament followed by their fulfilment in the New Testament were read by Roger Thompson and Carolyn Gowdy. The soloist, Karen Bowden, sang A Purple robe, a Crown of Thorns. Railway Street Church Choir, under their Director of Music, Janet Ferguson, led the praise, with the former organist of the church, Peter Wilson providing all the wonderful accompaniments, both on the organ and on the piano. Church members Aaron and Lois Curragh, Pauline and Craig Adair with Paul McAteer as raconteur gave a thought-provoking performance of a short dramatic piece entitled Clippity Clop. Heather Henry who introduced the service summed up the readings in a short address entitled God came near.

In his closing remarks the Rev. Brian Gibson asked, Who is he - for you personally? and continued, Either we dismiss him as part of history or we see someone significant - The Lord, the King of Glory - the Saviour of the World.
