Parish Priest, the Very Rev. Hugh Kennedy, will celebrate the
Silver Jubilee of his Ordination today (Friday 31st
March) in Rome. He was ordained in Rome on 31st
March 1981, and travelled to the city of his Ordination on
Mother�s Day, Sunday 26th March and will return to
his Lisburn Parish on Thursday 6th April. Two
Northern Ireland priests Fr. Gregory Cormican - Glenarm and Fr.
Denis McKinlay - Kilcoo, who were ordained at the same service
of Ordination travelled with him on the trip and some members of
his family are travelling to Rome today (Friday 31st)
to join Mr. Kennedy in the celebration. The happy event had a
sadder note however. Fr. Kennedy and his Mother had lunch
together on Monday 20th March as he celebrated his 50th
Birthday, but sadly she passed away in her sleep in the early
hours of Tuesday morning 21st March.
