When the shop and post office in Drumbo village closed in 2003, locals lost what were for many an important focal point for a chat and an opportunity to catch up on the local news. Shortly after their closure, Mrs Hilary McCluggage (Chair of the Board of Governors of Drumbo Primary School) in conjunction with the minister, the Rev Adrian McLernon and members of Drumbo Presbyterian Church P.W.A. mooted the idea of a 'Drop In' centre in the village to create a Christian outreach to the community of Drumbo. Formed in 2005, the 'Drop In' centre meets in the Church Hall, allowing local people to meet and have fun, fellowship and chat over a cup of tea and scones.
