Former Dromore men the Rev
Raymond McKnight (left) and John Kelly (who had

mark the 20th anniversary of the
Senior Citizens' Club which Mr McKnight formed
in February 1987.
Former Dromore men, the Rev Raymond McKnight and John
Kelly were the guests at a dinner held in Magheragall Parish
Church last Wednesday afternoon (31st January) to
mark the 20th anniversary of the Senior Citizens'
Club. Raymond, who was Rector of the Parish from 1986 to
1991, founded the Magheragall Senior Citizens' Club in
February 1987. The Rev Canon Alec Cheevers and his wife
Maureen (now living in Dromore) were also guests at the
dinner; Canon Cheevers was Rector of Magheragall from 1991
to 2004. The special guest at the dinner was the Rt Rev
Alan Harper, Bishop of Connor in his last parish visit
before commencing his duties as Archbishop of Armagh and
Primate of All Ireland last Friday (2nd
February).
Raymond and John, who during the early 1960s were
classmates at Banbridge Technical College and also members
of Quilly Flute Band, had not met for over 40 years and the
passing of time meant that they did not even recognise each
other at first. Mr McKnight, now an Army Chaplain, lives in
England and John lives in Lisburn.
