Beating the 'credit crunch' with St Paul's C.L.B.

St Paul's Parish Lisburn, Church Lads Brigade decided to do something as gesture to older people in the community who may have been suffering due to the 'credit crunch' that has increased the cost of living for many people recently.

Over the last few weeks the boys of the company were gathering together items for their 'credit crunch' parcels in preparation for delivery on Friday 24th October. Each parcel contained basic items as tinned products, sweets and washing-up liquid. The boys and parcels were loaded on to their mini-bus with the assistance of Andrew Maze (Captain) they set of for their visits. They were very well received and their gesture was very much appreciated.
St Paul's uses several community mottos' one of which is 'St Paul's at the heart of the Community' and this project led by the C.L.B. is just one way in which this is made possible.

One other scheme the parish ministry team has piloted this autumn is a 'community lunch' held in the church hall on Wednesdays at lunchtime and this is attracting an increasing number of folk each week.
