A wet miserable evening didn't dampen the festive spirit at the Annual Carol Service in Dromore Orange Hall last Thursday evening (11th December) organised by Lower Iveagh Evangelical Concern. The Rev Bro Victor Neill, District Chaplain and minister of Bangor Congregational Church conduced the service and Aughnaskeagh Silver Band led the festive praise. The Rev Bro Gerry Sproule (District Chaplain), Bro Robert Murphy (District Lay Chaplain) and Bro Will Lough (Past District Master) read the Scripture lessons. The preacher was the Rev Glenn Jordan of Bloomfield Congregational Church who in a challenging seasonal address emphasised the importance of understanding the real message of Christmas. Glenn spoke of the need to know the Blessing in being safe in the fold of Jesus; the Joy of lives changed when we meet with the living Lord; the Hope of the coming of the Lord; the Peace of God which passes all understanding; and the assurance of Emmanuel - God with us - when we seek and find the Lord.

Picking up on Glenn's sermon, Victor, in his closing remarks asked, 'Christmas - what's it all about?' and answered, 'It's all about - Blessing, Joy, Hope, Peace and Emmanuel - God with us'.

Refreshments were served after the service providing the opportunity for brethren to exchange Christmas greetings.
