AN important milestone in the history of Kilwarlin Moravian Church was marked last Sunday afternoon (January 3I) when recent renovation work was dedicated. The work, to comply with disabled access legalisation, included a ramp at the entrance to the church and renovation work to the church hall extension to include new toilet facilities. The minister, the Rev Patsy Holdsworth, led the service. Br Derek Woods, Chairman of the Irish District, greeted the congregation and Br Rev Desmond Quaite read the Scripture lesson. Mrs Esther Law presided at the organ. The hymns of thanksgiving and praise included, Praise my soul' and The churches one foundation'. Nigel Wilkinson on flute accompanied by Gareth Murray on keyboards played a selection of well-known hymns including 'Love Devine' and 'It is well with my soul'.

The guest speaker was former Kilwarlin minister, the Rev Paul Holdsworth, now minister of University Road & Cliftonville Moravian Churches in Belfast. In his address he spoke of the church not as just bricks and mortar but brothers and sisters working together to worship and serve the church's one foundation - Jesus Christ our Lord. Br Holdsworth said that this celebration might not have been as momentous as the time when Rev. Basil Zula rebuiite the church in the Cl9th, but that never-the-less it was a statement of intent of the future of the congregation. He concluded by congratulating the congregation on this important milestone in the history of the church and wishing them many years of service in the future.

A typical Kilwarlin Moravian excellent supper was served following the service, during which time talented musicians Nigel and Gareth played another selection of hymns. Rev Patsy Holdsworth would like to take this opportunity to thank the local community for their help, support and generosity over the years. A big thanks goes to Eric Wilkinson & Sons for the building work they carried out at the Church and the hall.
