BALLYMACASH Primary School will celebrate its
75th anniversary next month and would like to invite former
members of staff and pupils to help mark the special occasion.
As the oldest primary educational
establishment on the North side of Lisburn, Ballymacash Primary
School moved to its current site on May 30 1931. Three quarters
of a century later the school has continued to maintain a
central role in the educational community of Lisburn City.
A special week of events has been planned for
May 22nd 26th and it is hoped that contact can be made with as
many former staff and pupils as possible prior to this.
Aimed at celebrating both the past and
present successes of the school, each day will have a different
focus involving pupils, parents, local businesses and of course
former pupils and staff.
In preparation for the week, the school is
gathering memorabilia from the school's history for display in a
special anniversary museum. Contact has already been made with
several of the original pupils from 1931. If you are a former
pupil or staff member and know of the whereabouts of any
pictures, stories, books etc. suitable for loan to the museum,
please contact the school secretary.
Please put these dates in your diary. To
assist with seating arrangements and catering, it would be
appreciated if those planning to attend the events please
contact the school office on 9266 4244.
