his family. US26-863SP
KILLULTAGH Councillor Jim Tinsley is believed
to be the youngest Deputy Mayor of Lisburn, at the age of just
35.
Family man Jim, who is married to Margaret
and has two children - James who is 3 and Anna who is two
months, was first elected as a councillor in Lisburn in a
by-election in 1989. He is now serving his third term
representing the people of Killultagh and is looking forward to
the challenges that his year as Deputy Mayor will bring.
Speaking following his appointment, Mr Tinsley said: "I was
really delighted to be elected.
"It is an honour to represent the people of
Lisburn; it is a real privilege.
"I am looking forward to the year ahead,
giving whatever support I can to the new Mayor, Councillor
Trevor Lunn.
"I am a little concerned that the position
will impact on family life but my family is very important to me
so it will all be a question of balance."
Mr Tinsley concluded by saying: "I would like
to thank my party colleagues and the rest of my colleagues on
Lisburn City Council for supporting me and I look forward to
representing all of the people of Lisburn City over the next
year.
