THE Royal British Legion in Sackville Street opened the doors to its newly refurbished lounge last Thursday evening.

 

The lounge, which has been brought up to date by Classic Furnishing from Comber, was officially opened by D-Day veteran Billy Moore, who was delighted to be asked to do the honours of cutting the ribbon.

 

Invited guests were thrilled with the new, modern look to the lounge, which includes new seating, tables, a bar area and a wide-screen plasma television.

Branch President, Mr Maurice Leathem, said he was delighted with the new lounge and that everyone who attended the opening was equally as thrilled.
 

Mr Leathem also thanked Mr Moore for taking the time to perform the ceremonial duties on the night.
