ANT
and Dec were nowhere to be seen as the boys and girls of St
Aloysius PS strutted their stuff on stage in front of a
packed house of screaming fans for the school's 'Pop Idol'
final.
It could not have been a closer finale
with Shane Ward (Anthony Angelone), James Blunt (Jason
McKay) and Bonnie Tyler (Megan Stewart) in second place
behind the combined talents of Meatloaf (Michael Corr, Keady
Smith, Amy Szymura and Kevin Beeton).
Compere on the night, Seamus McMahon, led
the applause of a feverish audience, congratulating all
those who entered a hugely successful event.
Mr Patsy McClean, Principal, echoed those
sentiments, revealing that Pop Idol had raised over 800
towards the school's Lenten Charities Appeal.
So another highly successful night of
entertainment in St Aloysius PS ended.
The night had begun with the School Choir
and the Primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils enthralling the audience
with a performance of 'Hosanna', an enchanting adaptation of
the Easter story, directed and choreographed by Mrs Una
Tracey. It ended to the sound of thunderous applause and
acclaim in recognition of the effort and achievement of all
those involved in a night of drama, laughter and fun.
