HILLSBOROUGH Ploughing Society's Match was
held last Saturday on land at the Cockhill Road, Maze, kindly
granted by the McCulla Family.
The weather held up until mid afternoon, but
a good day was had by all.
The results were as follows;

HILLSBOROUGH Ploughing Society recently held
its annual dinner and presentation at the Hilden Bowling Club.
Three members were recognised for their
achievements during the year: David Gill (vice chairman) who
became World Ploughing Champion in Lithuania in September,
Mercer Ward (committee member) who became European Reversible
Vintage Champion in Isle of Man in August and Ronnie Coulter
(chairman) who was the World Team Coach and Judge for Northern
Ireland.
They were presented with Tyrone crystal rose
bowls by John Ward (president) and Sandra Anderson (committee
member).
Mr Ward accepted a presentation from Mr
Bertie Lyle, the Nickerson Seed Perpetual Cup, to the Society
for the winner of the multi furrow class.
