Isabel McArdle, from Warren Park, Lisburn celebrated her 100th
birthday with 74 members (4 generations) of her family circle at
the Ballymac Hotel on Friday 28th December. Many of Isabel�s
family had travelled from as far afield as England, Canada,
Australia and Barbados to join with her on this very special
occasion. Among the many people who called to wish Isabel a
Happy Birthday were Lisburn Mayor, Councillor James Tinsley and
Lisburn Parish Priest, the Very Rev Dermot McCaughan.

Born on 28th December 1907 to parents John and Martha
McGurnaghan from Knockmore, Isabel is the youngest of seven
children (5 boys and 2 girls) and is the sole surviving member
of the family - Henry, Maria, William, John, Hugh and David. She
is the widow of the late Patrick McArdle, who died in 1971. They
lived at Warren Park since 1939 and had 5 children (1 boy and 4
girls) - Celine (now living in Ottawa, Canada), Sean
(Tasmania, Australia), Marie (Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England),
Patricia (Montreal, Canada) and Ita (Lisburn).
