Kevin Palmer at the top of Kilimanjaro
A LISBURN man has successfully completed a
seven day trek to the highest peak in Africa.
28-year-old Kevin Palmer undertook the
Kilimanjaro challenge recently and raised 3,475 for Oxfam.
The Aircraft Certifying Engineer for Virgin
Atlantic at Heathrow, said: "The trip was the hardest and best
thing I have done in my life and I fully recommend it to anyone.
"I managed to make it to the peak, and it was such an amazing
feeling."
Kevin explained that one of the major
highlights of the trip was visiting an Oxfam project in Ngorongo
to see how the funds are used.
"It was a true eye opener, the work that Oxfam do is
fantastic. The Masi people have so little yet they are so happy,
a brilliant experience that has given me a different view on
life."
Kevin would like to thank everyone who
supported his challenge.
