MOIRA construction company McMullen
Architectural Systems has announced a new 12million contract to
provide curtain walling for a major development project in
Salford, Manchester.
The firm will provide curtain walling for a
new BBC television and radio centre, along with a 16 floor hotel
and 19 floor office building as part of a city revitalisation
scheme.
The contract announcement is a further
example of the successful growth of McMullen Architectural
Systems, who were named exporter of the year at the Northern
Ireland Showcase Build & Design Awards earlier this year. The
Group, McMullen Group Holdings Ltd, which serves the UK, Irish
and International construction markets, has doubled its turnover
in the past two years to 50m and is expecting to reach turnover
of 70m in two years time thanks to very strong order books.
Commenting, Managing Director Ted McMullen
said: "This contract announcement is a major coup for McMullen
Architectural Systems and further underlines our ability to
compete for and deliver major construction projects in both the
domestic and international markets. The company has experienced
very significant
growth and we are confident we will continue
this success over the coming years, despite the slowdown in
construction. This is due to the specialist nature of the
contracts we are involved in, and thanks to the expertise and
quality of our staff."
Two years ago McMullen invested over 2
million in founding its US subsidiary, McMullen Inc, to meet
demand for the company's growing international order book, with
a prestigious client list including
the groundbreaking 40 Bond St townhouse and
apartment development in Manhattan and Boston University's new
Medical Centre.
In April, McMullen also announced its
acquisition of Systems Aluminium Ltd (SAL), a prominent curtain
wall contractor located in Cumbernauld Scotland, in a
multi-million pound deal which has seen the company become the
biggest UK based curtain wall contractor.
