THE Inner Wheel Club of Lisburn is
celebrating its 50th birthday.
The AGM was held recently in the home of
Norma Goggins and an evening of fun and friendship was enjoyed
by all. The club was formed on 21st May, 1959, and the Charter
Dinner was held in the Conway Hotel in Dunmurry.
At the dinner the chain of office was
presented to the first president, Mrs R F McNeight by Maurice
Bennett, the president of the Rotary Club of Lisburn. Mrs
McNeight's daughter is still a member of the club today. The
members are now looking forward to a year of celebrations to
mark their first half century and started the year off by
presenting two cheques for 1,000 each to Marie Curie Cancer
Care and the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children.
