Magheragall Pipe Band celebrates birthday

MAGHERAGALL Pipe Band is five years old this year and has been playing at parades, functions, concerts and nursing homes for the past three years. Chairman William Leathem said: "In the last few years the band has had many successful events and challenges. We have played at various parades, social functions, concerts, nursing homes and we have produced a CD.

"Last year we had the honour of taking part in a parade in London which was a terrific morale boost for the band, parading down Whitehall past the cenotaph and Downing Street was an unforgettable experience. We have had great support from the community and from Arts Council for Northern Ireland and Awards for All. We would like to thank all for there support."

The band would welcome new and experience players. If anyone is interested in learning to play the bagpipes or you have previous experience you will be made most welcome.

The band practices on a Wednesday evening at 8.00pm in Lowquarter Orange Hall, Magheragall, Lisburn. For more information contact William Leathem 07808138016.
