LISBURN City Council welcomed Mr Dugan Novotny of the Slovak Embassy to the City, during his recent Northern Ireland visit to promote business opportunities in Slovakia.
Representatives from SARIO, the Slovakian Investment Promotion Agency, accompanied Mr Novotny the Commercial Counsellor for the Slovak Embassy in London, on his visit.
Mr Novotny visited Lisburn as part of the Council's Central and Eastern European Trade Development Programme to speak at the programme's first workshop held at Lagan Valley Island.
Mr Novotny spoke to the programme participants about Slovakia, and the benefits of doing business in the country, which has performed well economically in recent years when compared to some of its neighbouring countries.
Chair of the Economic Development Committee, Councillor Jenny Palmer commenting on the visit said: "Lisburn City Council was delighted to host a visit by Mr Novotny to our City. I look forward to new trade and civic linkages being established in Slovakia."
