SIX pupils from Wallace High School were awarded eight prizes in this year's www.mybestphoto.co.uk digital photography competition.

Year 8 pupil Masha Morwood and Year 9 pupil Catherine Harrison won two prizes each. It meant the school was awarded the Overall School Prize. Principal Mrs Deborah 0' Hare was presented with a beautiful hardback edition of The Times World Atlas for the school library by The Mayor, Councillor Allan Ewart.

The award ceremony was held in Hillsborough Castle where the winning photographs are now on display in the Castle's Downshire Gallery.

The competition, which is in its second year, was run by Hillsborough Young Artists sponsored by Lisburn Arts Advisory Committee and supported by jkevents.

Lagan Valley Rotary Club joined forces with the competition this year and had a category with the theme 'Water for Life'.
