Annual GB Service held in First Lisburn

THE Lagan District Girls' Brigades annual service was held in First Lisburn Presbyterian Church last Sunday afternoon (5th April).

The girls paraded from and to Wallace Park accompanied by several local bands.

The special guest at the service was the Deputy Mayor, Alderman Edwin Poots. The District Chaplain, the Rev John Brackenridge, minister of First Lisburn, led the service and Sam Smith of the Leprosy Mission gave the address.

District Commissioner Lynda Dunlop thanked the girls for their attendance and also thanked the special guest and speakers.

Girls from St Paul's Parish Church took part in the service - Megan Childs gave the call to worship, Laura Strain read the Scripture lesson and Chloe McCormick and Lauren Mulholland led prayers of adoration and confession.

First Lisburn Presbyterian Church praise band led the worship, the hymns included, 'We want to see Jesus lifted high', 'My heart is filled with thankfulness' and 'In Christ Alone.
