BROOKMOUNT Dance Ranch and Belsize Kickers Line Dance Club's held a 70's night on Friday April 24 in Lowquarter Orange Hall, Magheragall to celebrate their charity fundraising efforts throughout the year.
The groups were thrilled to present Irene Maitland with a cheque for £2,400 for the Northern Ireland Children's Hospice.
They raised the money by doing Line Dance demonstrations, Line Dance social nights throughout the year, and Smarties tube collection. A very special effort was made by club members Charlie Hendron and Ross McNeill who cycled 100 miles around Lough Neagh.
Class teacher Sharon Hendron commented, "I would like to say a huge thank you to Charlie Hendron and Ross McNeill and all who sponsored them.
"Every year the dancers vote aim nominate a charity to fundraise for and over the last four years we have donated a grand total of £7610 to various local charities.
"I feel very lucky to teach so many genuinely kind and generous people. A sincere thank you to each and every one of them and to all of you who supported their efforts."
If anyone would like to join the groups for a fun way to exercise and raise money for those in need, the Line Dance classes are as follows: Brookmount Dance Ranch every Monday at Lowquarters Orange Hall, Ballinderry Road, Magheragall - Beginners 7-8pm, Improvers 8-9pm, Intermediates 9.15-10.15pm.
