Lisburn girl Jemima Brown kick starts preparations for the production of 'Godspell' at the Grand Opera House this Sunday August 16.

TWO young people from Lisburn will be on the stage of the Grand Opera House this Sunday as Music Theatre 4 Youth (MT4Uth) presents if first fully staged production of the musical 'Godspell'.

The award winning organisation held open auditions at the beginning of the year and Jemima Brown and Rea Campbell were among 50 of the most talented young people from across Ireland and Northern Ireland selected to form the cast of the famous musical.

In only eight days the young people will rehearse and stage a fun and contemporary version of the1970s classic by Stephen

Schwartz, composer of current Broadway and West-End hit musical 'Wicked'.

With a top class artistic team, inspirational cast, simple yet stylish costumes and set and an impressive music department, this production promises to be another sell-out success for MT4Uth.

The production will be hosted by Niamh Perry who has recently been awarded the role of 'Sophie' in the West End production of 'Mamma Mia'.

Niamh hit the headlines when she reached the finals of BBC's 'I'd Do Anything'. She has been a member of MT4Uth since 2005 and was made the organisation's 'Young Person's Patron' this year. Commenting on the upcoming performance, MT4Uth Founder and CEO Jenny Cooke said, "We are thrilled that MT4Uth are getting the chance to showcase what can really be achieved in a short space of time working with an international team at a world class venue. The company has come a long way in four years and I am confident that 'Godspell' will be a great platform from which the talent we have nurtured can shine. "

Tickets are available by contacting the Grand Opera House Box Office on 90 241919.
