Success peals out for Hillsborough bellringers
The
annual Cunningham Cup striking contest of the Northern District of the
Irish Association of Change Ringers (IACR) was held on Easter Monday at
Hillsborough Parish Church. The contest was won by the home team and
they are now faced with a trip to Dublin in May to compete in the Murphy
Cup contest against teams from the other Irish
regions.
As
well as the team winning the contest another member, Adam Houston, was
awarded the McBride Cup for best improved ringer in the Northern
District during the past year; a considerable achievement as his brother
Jonathan had won it the year before. Both boys are pupils at Dromore
High School.
