Star celebrates Lisburn's 400th Anniversary

AS Lisburn celebrates the 400th Anniversary of its founding this year, the Ulster Star will be helping to celebrate this momentous occasion in the life of the city with the production of a special 64-page glossy magazine at the end of this month.

From the early days of Lisburn through the Great Fire, the arrival of the Huguenots and the Linen industry, the production of which put Lisburn on the world map; it has been a vibrant and unique history. We will be collecting stories from Lisburn's past, together with photographic evidence of how the city has changed since 1609, when King James I granted the lands of Killultagh to the Conway family.

And we want you to join in celebrating this unique occasion. Do you have any old photographs or stories of interest which would suit our supplement? If so, please send them to us by Wednesday June 10 via email to news@ulsterstar.co.uk, call into the office at 12A Bow Street, Lisburn or ring the reporters on 92-679111. And look out for the supplement which will be free with the Star on June 19th.
