BROOKMOUNT Cultural & Education Society recently held a very successful Ulster Scots American festival week.
Harrison Watson Chairman Brookmount Cultural & Education, highlighted the week long events which included: Line Dancing Workshop & Barbecue, Tea Dance including Ulster Scots Country Dance Workshop, Lecture on Scots Irish in America, Piping & Drumming Workshop, Ulster Scots Craftwork Presentation & Exhibition, Ulster Scots Concert & Dance featuring the Homelanders incorporating Squeeze Tease from Scotland, fun day for all the family including various workshops by Willie Drennan and friends on pipes, fifes, accordion, various drums including Lambeg drum and Highland Scottish dancing and on the last night we had a Hoolie and hoedown, featuring Fiddling Tom Cameron, Amanda Robinson and Dancing to El dorado.
Councillor William Leathem, Board member of the Ulster Scots Agency said: "I was delighted to be present at a number of events during the Ulster Scots American festival. All events were well supported and I would congratulate all those involved in organising such a busy week."
