THREE local hairdressers have proved they are a cut above the rest after they secured places in the grand final of the prestigious L'Oreal Colour Trophy.

Following the Northern Ireland regional heats earlier this month, Natural Hair Company and Faith Hair from Lisburn have reached the final in the Colour Trophy category. and Exclusive Hair Company in Dunmurry gained a finalist place in the Professionnel Men's Image Award.

Charlene O'Reiley from Exclusive Hair Company and Leighanne Wright from Natural Hair Company have also reached the final in the Young CoIourist Award category.

The local hairdressers competed against 60 salons in the live regional heat, which was held on April 5 at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

In just 30 minutes each style-savvy team created an overall model look that captured their precise colouring techniques and reflected the Autumn / Winter 2011-12 catwalk trends. A judging panel of renowned and accomplished UK hairdressers decided who would move up the fashion ranks to the next level.

The elite panel consisted of Adam Reed, Chris Williams, Nick Malenko, Errol Douglas, Karen Dodds, Carolyn Newman and Gary France.

The local salons and colourists will now go on to compete in the grand final, which will be held Grosvenor House in London in July.
