FREE wristbands to gain entry into the Mayor's Carnival Concert to see Joe McElderry and Jedward at Wallace Park on Saturday 9th April are available now. The Concert is part of a fun filled afternoon of activities which will see the annual Mayor's Parade spectacular leaving Lagan Valley Island at 1pm, making its way around the City Centre before returning to the Council headquarters.

Joe McElderry Following the Parade, the entertainment continues with a Family Fun Day in Wallace Park including a Free Concert which begins at 3pm. Headline acts, Jedward and Joe McElderry will be performing from 4pm to 6pm.

Entry into the Concert arena will be by wristband only. These wristbands are available for collection from 4.30pm — 9.00pm on Thursday 31st March and 10.00am — 9.00pm on Friday 1st April (subject to availability) at the Lagan Valley LeisurePlex and Brook Activity Centre. A maximum of four wristbands will be available per person and must be collected by an adult.

Lisburn City Council Mayor, Alderman Paul Porter, said that he was very much looking forward to all the entertainment planned for Saturday 9th April.

"The City Centre will come alive with carnival performers, jugglers, stilt walkers, giant puppetry, samba bands and traditional music as the Parade makes its way through the streets," said Alderman Porter.

Children participating in Lisburn City's Mayor's Parade which has become one of the largest Carnival Parades of its kind ln Northern Ireland. Following the parade, which this year will not enter the Park but rather turn right at the bottom of Seymour Street to return to Lagan Valley Island, spectators will have time to make their way to Wallace Park for the beginning of the Concert.

As the vicinity of Wallace Park is expected to be extremely busy, car pick-ups and drop-offs will not be available in this area.

Residents are encouraged to use public transport or City Centre car parks. Parents and those planning to attend should ensure that they are aware of terms and conditions regarding entry. Children under 12 years of age are required to be accompanied by an adult.

"We are delighted to bring Joe McElderry and Jedward to Lisburn. With a huge following in the Lisburn area and indeed beyond, it is sure to be a day to remember," said the Mayor.
