HISTORY

The original Ballykeel Baptist Church was built on the Hillsborough Road, Dromara. The present church, on the Dromara Road, Hillsborough, was opened in 1985 and was extended in the 1990s. The original church was demolished and the ground used as an extension to the cemetery. The current pastor, Jackie Hughes, was inducted at Ballykeel in October 1986. Mr Hughes is a speaker very much in demand. Under the auspices of The Slavic Mission, he travels to Eastern Europe, USA and South Africa as a conference speaker and college lecturer.
