Big thank you from Lisburn.com

By The Lagan, Near The Pier

(Not quite The Old Bog Road)

My feet are here in Brighton,
This lovely Autumn morn
But I wish they were in Lisburn
In the town where I was born

Had I the chance to be back there,
Or own a mansion here
I'd sooner be without a care
By the Lagan, near the Pier

My mother's dead and gone now
My father's buried too
Two brothers now have joined them
And soon, it's my turn too

Have I a wish before I go?
Aye; to sit and shed a tear
On a grassy hill, by the water still
By the Lagan, near the Pier
